Polymer clay is one of the newest and most exciting mediums in the fine craft world, and it’s fast becoming one of the most popular. It is inexpensive, easy to use and doesn’t require a lot of equipment. I’m going to be demonstrating a few basic but fascinating techniques, such as the Skinner Blend, simple cane making, and the use of alcohol inks and silver leaf.
About the presenter:
Lauren Abrams has been creating art and fine crafts in one form or another for about 35 years. She lives in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania with her husband and a variety of woodland creatures, such as deer, turkeys and black bears.

Art the Economy and Survival – Open Forum tonight
Last week we announced January’s EBSQ LIVE and because we feel it is an important topic we wanted to remind everyone that tonight is the night. If you are wondering what to do to maximize your chances of getting through the tough economy, have come up with any strategies or just want to talk or listen, we hope that you will be at this evening’s LIVE!
Tonight will be an open forum gathering where all can participate. These are some rocky and scary times but they are survivable. EBSQ LIVE will be in the EBSQ Chat Room at 9PM EST and is open to everyone. Please come and join us.

Composition Workshop and Discussion at EBSQ
Harlan has started a Composition Workshop and Discussion on the EBSQ Forums. You can find it under General Art Topics – General Art. It is going gang busters and shows no sign of slowing down. There is a lot of wonderful information to be had, some great questions answered and lots of people participating. You really should come and check it out – it is more than worth your time.
You do need to be an EBSQ member to sign in and access that section of the Forum. To find out how to join, go to the Join page on the main EBSQ site. It’s easy and you will gain access to one of the most vibrant art communities there is.
Looking forward to seeing scads more people there!
